Little bits and pieces for Motorola Milestone and Android

Alarms - scheduled CPU wake-up fix for Motorola Milestone + Alarm Tester

Not needed anymore for SHOLS_U2_02.34.3/SHOLS_U2_02.36.0 and newer FW

The kernel of most of the Milestone 2.1 firmware versions has a bug - scheduled alarms are not able to wake the CPU from sleep. When the CPU stops as it enters the sleep state, any scheduled alarm will not wake the CPU at the specified time. All alarms are fired off later, only when another interrupt (other than RTC) wakes the CPU.
Known affected firmware versions: at least SHOLS_U2_02.31, SHOLS_U2_02.34.0
My bug report and the bug confirmation by Motorola: AlarmManager: ELAPSED_REALTIME_WAKEUP & RTC_WAKEUP won't wake up Milestone (system 2.1)

Česká klávesnice - LatinIME2

Czech android keyboard - it might be interesting only for those speaking Czech, so this article is in Czech only...

Vulnerable recovery for Motorola Milestone - root any known firmware version

A SBF file that contains only the vulnerable recovery (CG47) from SHOLS_U2_01.14.0.
Allows to root any known Milestone firmware version. It will not change anything in the phone system etc., only the recovery partition will be reflashed.
Flash the SBF using RSD Lite 4.6 (Windows) or sbf_flash (Linux).
After you flash this SBF, you will be able to use the conventional method to install the su and Superuser.apk (aka root).

Made with SBF Recalc and hexedit.

FLAC support for Motorola Milestone

Updated libraries:
29 June 2010: fixed the flac duration reported by the mediascanner (fixes also the flac seeking in the bTunes player)

(media database needs to be rebuilt for this fix to have an effect on the flac files already present on your SD card: menu>Settings>Applications>Manage applications>menu>Filter>All>Media Storage>Clear data - custom ringtones will need to be reassigned afterwards)
